Good Times - CPS #75

Happy Saturday! What a fun day this has been....not! We had a structural engineer out today that told us our home has shifted 2.5 inches due to the root system of two large Oaks on our lot. It didn't sound like a big deal until he told us it would be approximately $10,000.00 to repair it and that includes a 25 year warranty. Unfortunately, homeowners doesn't cover this type of damage, but if the tree fell on the house that would be covered. I need to sell alot more cards to cover this expense! :(

Enough of that....This card was created based off of this weeks sketch at CardPatterns. I just love this sketch...then again, I love each and every sketch they offer! :) Papers and image are from Gooseberry Patch, paper doily adhesives from K&Co., tab diecut along with rubberstamped sentiment from Papertrey Ink, velvet leaf from Prima, misc. rhinestone adhesives, sunflower and seam binding ribbon all have been added.

Hope you had a fantastic day - keep creating! Cathy xx :)

Post Card - CPS #174

It sure was nice to have today off! We went to the town parade with my nieces and nephew and had a great time. We all went out for lunch and back to our house for an afternoon of swimming. I think everyday should be like today! :)

This card was created based off of this weeks sketch at CPS. I decided to use my Girls Paperie DP - can't get enough of these! Chipboard from Maya Road, glitter from Martha Stewart, buttons and twine from PTI, misc. rhinestone adhesives and rubberstamped image.

Hope you all had a great day! The best thing about having today off......it makes for a short work week! Cathy xx :)

Fabulous - TSTR #17

Happy 4th of July! Hope you have a day filled with celebration, b-que, family and friends! :)

This week at the Shabby Tea Room we are being sponsored by Pixie Petals. Be sure to visit her shop...I know you will find something to enhance your projects.! Also, our guest designer this week is none other than the lovely and creative Annabelle O'Malley. Be sure to visit her blog for oodles of inspiration! :)

This card was created based off of this weeks challenge at The Shabby Tea Room. The challenge......embossing, either heat or dry. I opted to go with the dry using cardstock from Coredinations. This paper works so well for this type of technique. I then sanded it to help make the embossed pattern stand out even more. The paper used is from Basic Grey, crocheted trim, rhinestone adhesives, twine and rubberstamped sentiment from Papertrey Ink, paper flower from Prima, diecut label from Spellbinders, embossing folder from Quickutz, and butterfly die from Quickutz.

I have to tell you......while using my embossing folder, I broke my Quickutz die-cutting tool! I was so mad....temporarily. This was an emergency - so I ran out to Archivers and ended up buying a larger one that will accomodate the larger dies that I have. Everything does happen for a reason! :)

Enjoy the holiday! Cathy xx :)
